ÐÓ°ÉÔ­°æ Alumni Head to 2024 Paralympic Games in Paris

Matthew Torres ’23 and Colleen Young ’20 will compete in swimming, Tom Siddall ’15 is set to coach for U.S. Rowing.

Three ÐÓ°ÉÔ­°æ University alumni are headed to Paris this week as a part of Team USA for the 2024 Paralympics Games. Matthew Torres ’23 and Colleen Young ’20 will compete for U.S. Paralympic Swimming, while Tom Siddall ’15 is a part of the coaching staff of U.S. Paralympic Rowing.

Torres, who also attended ÐÓ°ÉÔ­°æ Prep, competed in the freestyle and backstroke for four seasons as a Stag. He owns a bronze medal in the 400m Freestyle from the 2020 Tokyo Paralympics and a pair of World Championship silver medals.

Young is a three-time MAAC Team Champion (2018, 2019, 2020) with ÐÓ°ÉÔ­°æ Women's Swimming & Diving, winning gold in the 200y breaststroke in both 2018 and 2019. On the international scene, she won a silver and a bronze medal at the Tokyo games and a bronze at the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Paralympic Games. Young is also a 12-time World Championship medalist, including three gold medal performances.

Siddall was a four-year member and three-year captain with ÐÓ°ÉÔ­°æ Men’s Rowing. In addition to his work with Team USA, he is currently on the coaching staff at Harvard University.

Rowing events at the 2024 Paralympic Games are schedules for Aug. 30 through Sept. 1 while swimming is held daily from Aug. 29 though Sept. 6. Action is available for viewing on the USA Network as well as streaming on Peacock and YouTube.
